Reimagining Government
The Centre for Public Impact

Reimagining Government is a podcast that challenges how we think about government and public services. Produced by the Centre for Public Impact (CPI) in partnership with Cue Podcasts, the show champions people around the world who are reshaping the operations of government.

After three successful seasons, with a fourth in development, it has become one of CPI’s most effective communication tools.

The Brief

Centre for Public Impact (CPI) is a global non-profit that works with public sector organisations to support better outcomes for people and communities. Their mission is to shift mindsets, question outdated systems, and share what works.

They came to Cue with a clear goal:

  • Produce a podcast that shows how public services can improve through a more creative and empathetic approach

  • Share stories that resonate with lived experience, not just policy

  • Make complex ideas easier to understand

  • Raise awareness of CPI and connect with others doing similar work

How We Made It Work

Together, CPI and Cue planned a podcast that puts real people at the forefront of every episode. The audience hears directly from those changing how the government works, from local organisers to senior leaders.

We focused on:

  • Careful research to find the right historical and policy context

  • Storytelling that highlights people and communities, not just institutions

  • Strong sound design, including music and recordings from real-world environments

  • Recording guests remotely, while still keeping audio quality at a high level

  • Creating clear, eye-catching visuals for each episode to support promotion on social media and email

The Results

The podcast has helped CPI grow its audience, build new partnerships, and show what public impact can look like in practice.

  • Reached over 50,000 listeners

  • Featured in multiple international government and public sector podcast charts

  • Covered by media across the policy and social impact space

  • Inspired listeners to test ideas in their own communities

  • Recognised as CPI’s most shared and referenced communications project

What Listeners Love

Each episode offers something different. Listeners have especially responded to:

They stand out because the content was personal, practical, and left listeners hopeful about the future. They focus on the positive changes when people are trusted to shape the services they use.

A Well-Oiled Machine

Cue works closely with CPI across every part of the process. That includes research, writing, interviews, editing, and promotion.

Graeme and Kim from Cue have been an absolute dream to work with. They know our brand, our goals, and our audience—and it shows in every episode. – says Carmela, CPI’s Global Manager of Communications and Storytelling.

Over time, the workflow has become smoother and more effective, allowing both teams to focus more on both creative and content-driven areas of the podcast. This evolution in the process has not only improved the quality of each episode but also led to a tight collaboration between Cue and CPI by improving turnaround times and streamlining every step of production.

By refining the approach with each season, Cue has been able to consistently deliver content that resonates with Reimagening Government’s audience and aligns closely with CPI’s mission to inspire change in governance.
